A fire at the front door of Old Parliament House in Canberra has seen the museum shut down this week as protesters occupied the front steps. The building began operation on 9 May 1927 after Parliaments relocation from Melbourne to the new capital CanberraIn 1988 the Commonwealth Parliament transferred to the new Parliament House on Capital Hill.
